The process of exploration, mining and beneficiation is intrusive and can cause damage to the environment and it is every mining company’s responsibility to minimize that impact. Good environmental management procedures and systems help ensure sustainable mining activities.
Bama Co. has made a substantial investment in helping preserve the environment of the region, through the application of several scientific undertakings and practical mining methods, and aims to become a “green” industrial group through its sustainable development program and the preservation of the environment.

The company has adopted and implemented various strategies to ensure adherence to the appropriate environmental standards, the most important of which are:
• Analyzing and understanding the environmental conditions throughout the complex
• Complete supervision of the mineral waste disposal process
• Installing and implementation thickeners and filter presses for dewatering the entire flotation plant tailings.
• Continual sampling, measurement and analysis of the tailing produced
• Implementation of a human waste retrieval system
• Design, construction and installation of de-dusters to minimize air pollution.
• Implementing a health program to check and analyze the health of Bama Co staff
• Creating a green space within the complex, to which Bama Co. have earmarked 33 Hectares for this project
• The design and implementation of drip irrigation systems to provide green spaces over 15,000 square meters
• To employ environmental experts and advisors to help with the company’s decision-making process regarding the environment
Bama Co is committed to good mining practice and has obtained ISO 14001 environmental management certification.
